Networking Women Spa
SAMMAH is a modern take on a traditional Turkish Hammam. Exploring the boundaries of public & private space, this spa is a place for women to relax, unwind, experience and connect with others.
Located on the top two floors and the roof of 500 Place D'Arm in Old Montreal, SAMMAH is both centrally located and offers spectacular views of the city and Old port.
The concept for SAMMAH explores the experience of the hammam ritual. Clients are welcomed with refreshments in the tea room. They begin with a scrub massage in a hot room, followed by a plunge in a cool refreshing pool or a relaxing float in a salt pool and lastly an oil massage. A beauty salon rounds out the experience with nail and hair treatments.
The target market is the world of women: professional and associates, collaborators, neighbors friends, mothers and daughters.
The design is inspired by the simple geometric forms underlying complex Turkish patterns. A neutral palette of colors and materials set the mood which is relaxing, calming and inspirational: promoting interactions, networking and connections in the world of women.
